We are a team of four people (hence the 4 in our name) with various levels of experience in the iGaming industry who came together in early 2015 in order to create M4 as a resource for anyone interested in the iGaming world. Our team is international, but is currently based in the UK and consists of:
- Eleanor Ramsey, editor-in-chief. Eleanor has been consulting on various casinos, both online and physical, since the early 1990s. When the iGaming revolution truly began in the early to mid 2000s, she was one of its pioneers, applying her practical knowledge of casino infrastructure in order to facilitate some of the earliest principles of online casino gaming, which are still used as the basis of every modern online casino to this day. After semi-retiring from her role as a consultant, she decided to move back home in the UK after a prolonged stint in the US in order to start M4 and help some of her British friends with their projects. She’s responsible for the management of the magazine, both its day-to-day tasks and the grander planning and expansion down the road.
- Matthias Woes – Senior editor and head writer. Matthias was born in Glasgow, Scotland and has lived there for most of his life. He got a job as a croupier in his 20s following his university graduation and absolutely fell in love with the casino lifestyle. He began working as an intern, and later a writer, for a big casino magazine in the mid-2000s, eventually transitioning into writing about iGaming and online casinos. When the magazine ended its run, Matthias went in between jobs for a while before finally finding a more permanent home at M4. Since he’s the only one on the team with actual experience in a publication he will be in charge of the writing process, but will also contribute material regularly, most notably editorials.
- Abi Khan – The youngest among the team, 21 year old Abi has recently graduated from college, and M4 is her very first full-time job. Don’t let that fool you, though – despite the fact that she wasn’t even old enough to gamble until recently, she still maintained a fairly successful online blog dedicated to iGaming for over two years, with dozens of well-written articles and news posts. With that in mind, obtaining her talent was an absolute no-brainer when we were picking our candidates. Being the youngest daughter of a pretty large family, Abi learned how to play various casino games such as Texas Hold’em and blackjack at a very early age, and throughout her life often challenged her friends and siblings to those kinds of games. Sure, she may not have a lot of real casino experience, but we’re pretty sure she can still beat anyone in the office when it comes to poker.
- Trevor Horton – M4s designer and web administrator. After graduating from university in 2006, Trevor jumped from contract job to contract job, building his portfolio and perfecting his skills. Then something he thought was completely impossible happened – he got an offer for a permanent job building and maintaining an online casino. Sadly, the casino in question never really managed to compete with the industry giants and it was shut down only a couple of years later, but it gave Trevor some inside knowledge of how the industry worked, from the point of view one of the people who kept it up and running. Overall, he’s a pretty skilled web administrator, and we’re quite proud of his work on our site and are confident that he will do a brilliant job maintaining it.
