The first Workshop and Exhibition on MPEG-4 held in Geneva, Switzerland, in May 2000, was a great success with tutorials given by leading experts in the field, technical sessions of very high quality, and an all-sold-out exhibition event. To continue this highly successful activity, to track MPEG-4 deployment in various markets, and to further energize the development of MPEG-4 products, the Second Workshop and Exhibition on MPEG-4 will be held from June 18 to June 20, 2001, in Hilton San Jose & Towers, 300 Almaden Boulevard, San Jose, California 95110, U.S.A. The Workshop/Exhibition is sponsored by IEEE Circuits and Systems Society in corporation with the MPEG-4 Industry Forum. It will again include tutorials on MPEG-4, exhibitions that showcase products using MPEG-4, and technical sessions on the research topics related to MPEG-4. The technical papers will be published in the Proceedings of the Workshop. Contributions are solicited in the following categories: |
||
Technical PapersOriginal technical papers are solicited on the research topics related to MPEG-4, such as encoding optimization algorithms for MPEG-4, innovative architectures and designs for implementing MPEG-4, and creative applications and innovative services using MPEG-4. Advanced research papers addressing similar functionalities of MPEG-4 are also solicited in Systems (interactivity, binary/textual representations, MM content management and protection), video coding, visual object coding, still texture coding, SNHC, audio coding, Internet streaming, etc.
The full four-page paper in double column format, including paper title, authors' names and affiliation, and a short abstract is requested. Only electronic submissions (pdf or postscript format) will be accepted. Those authors who are unable to send in their contribution electronically are asked to contact the Publications Chairs (NLing@scu.edu and tokunbo@matthew.engr.scu.edu, fax: 1-408-554-5474) for further instructions. Once accepted, the authors will be asked to prepare the final 4-page paper for the publication in the Workshop Proceedings. |
