Special MPEGIF Member Discount:
20% off list price

Vqual has been shipping the Vprove software application for analysis, optimisation and debugging of video encoders for nearly a year now and has many customers among the member companies of MPEGIF.
We are keen to support the activities of MPEGIF and therefore offer a discount of 20% to MPEGIF member companies.

Vprove is a software tool for users/developers of video compression technology, in particular for:

  • MPEG-4 Simple Profile and Advanced Simple Profile
  • H.264/AVC Baseline, Extended and Main Profiles
  • [from Mar. 04] MPEG-2 Main Profile @ Main Level
  • H.263+ and H.263
  • H.261
  • 3GPP, MP4 and [from Mar. 04] MPEG-2 Program Stream and VOB

Vprove looks inside the compressed bit-stream of a video file and provides easily understandable on-screen analysis of the type and performance of compression used, from the start of the file with all the header information, throughout each frame, down to details of each MacroBlock and block.   Vprove does:

  • codec performance analysis for optimisation;
  • evaluation and comparison (for example between different codecs or different versions of the same codec);
  • video standards-compliance and interoperability testing.

In previous uses, Vprove has helped improve significantly the video quality, by showing areas where the codec use could be optimised: for several major companies involved in video compression development it has already proven itself to save many months of engineering time.
Customers include not only many of the MPEGIF memeber companies, and well-established companies such as Philips, Zoran and Sarnoff but also very many newer, smaller companies. Please see our web-site for information on some of the Vprove Reference Customers.

There is further information on the web-site at: Vprove information and an extensive on-line datasheet and tutorials which explain how Vprove can be used.

You can also download a fully functioning demonstration version of Vprove: go to download page.
or you can receive a demonstration CD in the post: demonstration CD request.
