M4IF's IBC booth

On the M4IF booth, people could get their hands on some real live demos of MPEG-4 applications particularly relevant to Broadcast. Demonstrating their products, applications and solutions were: Amphion Semiconductor Coding Technologies GmbH Dicas Digital Image Coding GmbH Equator Technologies, Inc. Fraunhofer Institute IIS-A iVAST Inc. Media Excel, Inc.

MPEG-4 demonstrations and M4IF members at IBC

MPEG-4 technology demos or further information on MPEG-4 were found in over 30 booths at IBC. An exhibit guide showing locations and listing details of the demonstrations we could locate and identify is available here, and was available in hard copy from the M4IF booth and participating members at the show. As it turned out, there was MPEG-4 being shown in unexpected corners at the show, beyond the exhibits that we had identified beforehand.

MPEG-4 Industry Forum Press Breakfast

Day Two of IBC, Saturday 14th September, from 7.30 am in the Park Brasserie, on the RAI grounds, next to the press room. An animated breakfast with some 25 members of media an press. Many questions about MPEG-4's future, interoperability and the status of MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding, a.k.a. H.264. M4IF Board members and technology providers explained why MPEG-4 is a great proposition today, and why they firmly believe in MPEG-4's future.
